Buffelsfontein Visitor Centre

The internationally acclaimed Origins of Early Southern Sapiens Behaviour exhibition is open to all park visitors at the Buffelsfontein Visitor Centre, located in the Cape of Good Hope region of the park. It showcases the remarkable discovery of early modern human origins and innovations in Southern Africa, using multimedia displays.

Curated by award-winning documentary filmmaker, Craig Foster, and archaeologist, Petro Keene, the exhibition showcases the culmination of some 30 years of archaeological research in the southern Cape undertaken by Professor Christopher Henshilwood, Dr Karen van Niekerk, Professor Sarah Wurz and their research teams at the respective archaeological sites.

The centre also showcases all the plants and animals to look out for in a particular season and is full of informative signage.

Entry is free for park visitors.

Open daily between 09:00 – 16:00.
