Cash-Free Entrance at Cape Point and Boulders

Cape Point and Boulders Gates are a cash-free environment and we only accept payments via debit and credit cards.

One payment per vehicle when entering at Cape Point – no individual payments per person are accepted.

Reservations Payments

Table Mountain National Park does not accept cash in the Park for reservations or last-minute changes to reservations, such as adding extra PAX or additional nights. Please make use of the online Quick Payments system to facilitate such payments.

  • The standard rate is automatically applied to all visitors at the gate.
  • If South Africans wish to claim the local rate at the gate, they must indicate this on arrival at the gate.
  • To claim the local rate South Africans must provide proof of South African identification on arrival at the gate prior to entry: either a valid South African ID document/card reflecting an SA ID number or a SA Drivers Licence reflecting a South African ID Number, or a South African Passport reflecting an SA ID number. This proof is accepted in original, electronic or certified paper copy.
  • Also accepted to claim the South African rate are Foreign passports which have a valid Visa/Permit from home affairs to be in the country inserted onto one of the pages of the Passport: Spousal / Work / Study / Retirement / Volunteer / Diplomatic Visa. Also accepted an electronic or certified paper copy. Renewal payment receipts from Home Affairs are not accepted as proof of a valid visa and not sufficient to claim the South African rate.
  • Alternatively proof of permanent residence as issued by home affairs or a certified paper or electronic copy of any of above provided it is copy of the page of the passport indicating who you are and the visa.
  • SADC rates apply to Nationals of a SADC country who can produce a passport from the SADC country. This proof is accepted in original, electronic or certified paper copy.
  • Adult rates apply to persons 12 years and older.
  • Child rates apply to persons aged 2 – 11 years.
  • No refunds will be provided after entry through the gate if the SA rate was not claimed and billed for on arrival.
  • To enter on a Wild Card membership at Table Mountain National Park’s Gates, please present either a paper or electronic copy of your membership letter. The Gates no longer accept plastic Wild Cards as they are now considered obsolete.
