Commercial Operators Permit application costs are R455.00
In 2010 Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) began a consultative process with tourism industry stakeholders – Western Cape branch of the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association, Cape Town Tourism, the Cape Tourist Guide Association, South African Tourism, the Tourist Guides Allied Workers Union, City of Cape Town and the Department of Economic Development and Tourism – with regards to the implementation of a permitting system for commercial operators within TMNP.
South African National Parks’ (SANParks) has reviewed this system and aims to permit commercial activities as stipulated in the Park’s Conservation Development Framework, Environmental Management Programmes and relevant legislation. Such activities would include but are not limited to:
- Film or photographic shoots
- Group events
- Helicopter landings
- Cultural or sporting events
- Organized or special events
- Fund raising
- Extreme sports, food, beverage, curios and craft sales
- Equipment rental
- Selling or hiring goods
- Offering to sell or hire goods.
Please note that commercial guiding activities are not included in the list above and a permitting system in this regard is under review by SANParks.
Commercial opportunities in Table Mountain National Park may be advertised on the Government E Tender Bulletin with regards to specific sites.
