Possibly the most special accommodation available in Cape Town, this unique getaway is located deep in the southern part of the Cape of Good Hope and offers guests complete seclusion right on the beach.
The main cottage has three double rooms – one master, two with 2x ¾ beds, a fully kitted, gas-fuelled kitchen, a bathroom with a gas-fuelled geyser and an open plan lounge and dining area complete with a cozy fireplace. Linen is provided.
For warm summer evenings there is generous patio and braai area with a boardwalk leading to the beach.
For larger groups there is an annex that sleeps an additional six people – one two sleeper and one four sleeper. The annex has its own bathroom.
As the light are solar powered and water is sourced from tanks guests are asked to conserve energy and water.
Overseers Mountain Cottage
The Overseers Cottage can accommodate up to 16 pax in two fully equipped and self-catered accommodation units. Due to the location of this facility, all visitors need to make arrangements with the Platteklip Wash Houses prior to arrival with regards to porterage and arrival time on top of the mountain at the cottage.
Please note this is hiking accommodation and all visitors need to hike up and down the mountain.
Slangkop Tented Camp
Nestled within indigenous Milkwoods, no more than 100m from the sea, this marine-themed tented camp is the perfect location to watch the sun sink in the Atlantic Ocean.
Situated at the edge of the quaint village of Kommetjie, the camp offers a nature-based experience with the convenience of shops and restaurants close by.
This is also the only camp with a dedicated play area for small children.
Smitswinkel Tented Camp
This tented camp, situated just over the road from the entrance to Cape Point, lies in the shade of a weathered Flowering Gum plantation. Its location provides the ideal base from which to explore the wealth of attractions in the South Peninsula. Boulders Beach, home to the world-renowned colony of African Penguins, is just 15 minutes drive away.
Smitswinkel Tented camp is not within the Cape of Good Hope Section of the park (Cape Point) and conservation fees are payable upon entry at Cape Point gate.
Check-in time for accommodation is at Buffelsfontein Visitor Centre from 14:00 to 17h00 in winter ( April to September) and 14h00 to 18h00 ( October to March) in summer and accommodation must please be vacated by 10h00. Keys are to be handed in at the Buffelsfontein Visitor Centre no later than 10h30.
No late entry for this accommodation is permitted.
All members of the party need to arrive at the same time. Due to the location of these units, you need an escort to access them.
Guests are required to be back at camp by sunset daily.
Only the reserved number of guests will be allowed access to the accommodation unit. No day visitors/guests are permitted.
The conservation fee (entrance fee) is not included in the accommodation price and is payable daily, alternatively, see more information on the WILD Card.

Please note Olifantsbos has no electricity but a fridge, stove and gas lighting are provided.
The My Green Card may not be used in lieu of daily conservation fees when using Table Mountain National Park accommodation.
Guests arriving after gate closure times will not be permitted to enter the park and will need to make alternative accommodation arrangements. No refunds will be granted.
The Annex is only available at the additional person tariff.

Please collect the key for the boom to access the cottage from Buffelsfontein on arrival – do not go directly to the cottage as the boom will be locked and there is no one present at the boom to assist you.

Porterage is arranged with the Platteklip Washhouses at +27 (0)21 741 2300 or +27 (0)21 712 7471. Standard Porterage is from the Constantia Nek parking area departing at noon. The vehicles collect luggage from you at this location and will wait next to the fruit vendor on site. Please do not leave your car overnight in the Constantia Nek parking area and rather get a friend to drop you off on the day of your hike. Alternative porterage arrangements can be made with [email protected].
We do not supply wood at this site. Please bring your own wood, firelighters and matches with you.
There is no electricity at the cottage and gas geysers and a gas stove are supplied.
No pets are allowed at any overnight accommodation in the park.

The Tented Camps can only accommodate 12 people per night and no additional pax are allowed.
All camps offer hot water, comfortable beds, open fires, fully equipped self-catering communal kitchens/dining areas and communal bathrooms. Bedding is provided at Slangkop and Smitswinkel tented camps. Each camp accommodates a maximum of 12 people. Additional pax cannot be accommodated due to the tent size. All camps are easily accessible by car and have dedicated parking areas. Please take special note of the check-in and check-out times which are applicable to all camps. These facilities are not universally accessible. The tented camps are hiking accommodations and do not have generators to supply power irrespective of Eskom load shedding.
Table Mountain National Park does not offer a guiding service and if you wish to hike between camps we suggest you engage the services of a private guide to obtain the most from your hike. The park has over 800km of trail and we request you ensure you have a map of the area with you when hiking anywhere on the mountain. The camps themselves do not supply maps of the area.
Table Mountain National Park recommends that you always hike/walk in a group of four or more and that you always advise someone of your departure time, route and arrival time. Please do not hike anywhere in the park with valuables. We do not offer wood or charcoal for sale on-site and ask that you bring your own supply with you.
