Bontebok National Park Open To The Public Following Flood Damage
The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, David Maynier, visited the Bontebok National Park on 29 August 2026, to receive a briefing on...
With the abundance of rain starting early in the rainy season, all expectations are that there will be a bumper flower season this year. Reports are already starting to come in from up north of the first bright orange blankets, peppered with yellows and whites, and a few solitary reds in between.
Postberg is the area on the peninsula where the flowers are at their most prolific and can be accessed by the public at no extra charge, other than the seasonal entrance fees that are paid on arrival at the main gate. Your WildCard will also get you into this area during this period.
Aside from the flowers, the Park is a spacious natural collection of marine lagoon, rolling hills, crashing surf, dolomite outcrops, estuarial islands and coastal dunes.
The HR shop at Tsaarsbank just outside the Postberg gate has been refurbished with the addition of one of the old gate parkhomes, and we will be offering the public an even better weekend service this year.
As is usual, visitors are encouraged to pay us a visit and see the main wonder of the fabulous West Coast during the flower season.
