The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) and South African National Parks (SANParks) will celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity under the theme: Biodiversity through different lenses: Science, Society and Stewardship.
The two institutions have established a formal partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration in biodiversity conservation, research, training, and human capital development. This partnership has been pivotal in providing workplace training for UMP students and strengthening research collaborations between UMP and SANParks scientists.
The event will showcase the UMP–SANParks partnership as part of the lead-up to the Kruger National Park centenary milestone on 31 May 2026.
