At around 14h30 this afternoon the fires in Orange Kloof flared up again and the Oryx Helicopters were recalled to assist the ground crew. The flare-ups are no longer concentrated in the ravine below De Villiers Dam and are occurring both above and below the ring road over the entire footprint of the two fires that started over 24-hours ago.
There are approximately 50 ground crew from the Table Mountain National Park (TMNP), South Peninsula Administration (SPA) and Working on Fire (WoF) on site.
Conditions remain hot and dry.
