Tariffs for recreational activities announced for the GRNP (2015/2016)

All day hikes and picnic spots are under R30 for South African citizens. Cyclists will pay R40 for a day permit, R158 for a seasonal one and R578 for an annual permit. The Park continues to meet up with the cycling fraternity to find an easier, flexible permit system (weekly, monthly, joint permits with neighboring landowners).

Subsequent to ongoing discussions with the boat and vessel forum, a 30-day and annual permits will be available from SANParks premises from the 01st of November 2015. The fee structure is readily available on the SANParks website and these include fees for sailing as well.

Fees payable to enter the Park (conservation fees applicable for the Knysna and Wilderness sections of the Park):

South African citizens:

  • R 22 per adult
  • R 11 child

SADC:

  • R 44 adults
  • R 22 child

International visitors:

  • R 68 adult
  • R 34 child

Conservation fees differ for accommodation for overnight hiking trails and the treetop chalet (Knysna), conservation fees are R28.

Continued existence and functions of the South African National Park according to section 5 of the National Parks Act of 1976, state the organization must determine and collect fees for any entry to or stay in a Park or any service provided by it . The SANParks may for the purpose of performing its functions, “charge fees for any work performed or services rendered by it or collect fees resulting from any intellectual property rights.
