Table Mountain National Park’s K9 Dash Takes Top Honours at Inaugural K9 Competition
Table Mountain National Parks’ (TMNP) K9 Dash and his handler’s strong performance at the City of Cape Town’s inaugural K9 Competition secured the first and third place in Open Area Detection and second place in Scent Discrimination. They competed against 15 K9s from various organisations.
TMNP’s K9 Unit is also preparing for the upcoming festive season, with six dogs and six handlers expected to be operational by November 2026. The expanded team will strengthen the park’s law enforcement capacity during one of the busiest times of the year.
SANParks extends its appreciation to Hill’s Pet Nutrition, K9 Project Watchdog, Alexuandre K9 and the SANParks Honorary Rangers for their vital support in building and maintaining the unit’s operational capabilities.
