Ranger Support Services have organised a SANParks Golf Day on the 23 June 2006. All funds raised will be donated to the SANParks Anti-Poaching Unit.
Inspite of the best efforts of the SANParks Anti-Poaching Unit, poaching in our National Parks is increasingly difficult to counter. This is partly because poachers are realizing that it is more difficult to track them after dark, and as a result, poach in the late evening and flee into neighbouring areas or countries when the sun sets.
With Thermal Imaging Binoculars though, SANParks will be able to pursue poachers after dark, making it even more difficult and dangerous for poachers to operate in our parks.
One pair of these binoclars costs R180 000. One pair, however, will make a difference to the operations of the Anti-Poaching Unit.
Organisers hope that money raised through sponsers and participants will mean that the Kyalami Golf Day will raise enough money to purchase one pair of these much needed binoculars.
Sponsership per hole costs R3000-00 and advertising and banners are welcome. The cost per 4 ball is R1600-00, which includes the playing fee and snacks after the game.
By participating in this golf day, or simply making a donation towards the purchasing of equipment, you’ll be making a difference to conservation in this country. Please contact Hennie Klopper at [email protected] for more information.
