New Universal Access Walkway at Table Mountain Summit Enhances Inclusivity

South African National Parks (SANParks), in partnership with the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway (TMACC), has opened a Universal Access Walkway at the summit of Table Mountain, improving accessibility for a wider range of visitors.

This development marks a significant step in advancing inclusive tourism and universal design at one of South Africa’s most iconic landmarks. The walkway enables visitors using wheelchairs, as well as those with prams or mobility challenges, to experience the summit safely and comfortably.

The project underscores SANParks’ and TMACC’s shared commitment to accessibility, dignity, and inclusivity. By prioritising universal access, it contributes to creating welcoming public spaces and ensures that more people can independently enjoy the natural beauty of Table Mountain National Park.

This milestone reinforces the importance of inclusive tourism and equal access to South Africa’s natural heritage.
