New day visitor facilities launched at Groen River – Namaqua National Park

Day visitors to the Groenriviersmond camping site in the Namaqua National Park are now able to use the new facilities, free of charge. Nine new double braai pits and ablution facilities can be used exclusively by day visitors.

The new day visitor facilities are the fruits of the Integrated Coastal Management Act (ICMA), which aims to make provision for public access to tourist hotspots along the coast.

The addition will surely be a highly popular pitstop during the blooming of the Namaqualand flowers, which occur every year during October.

The facilities are situated right on the estuary of the Groen River, where visitors are also able to enjoy the pristine private beach of the park at no additional cost.
