Media Release: Mountain Zebra National Park December holiday programme

All guests in Mountain Zebra National Park (MZNP) outside Cradock, or those who would like to visit specially, are invited to join in on a week-long, fun-filled holiday programme between 8 and 16 December 2016.

While the programme is open to everyone young at heart, the game drives are solely for the enjoyment of the youngsters aged six to 16, at a reduced rate of R90 per child.

The activities are being run by the Park”s People and Conservation department, and staff members are bound to keep nature lovers of all ages entertained with educational walks in the wild, shows, DVD”s, story telling, games and game drives.

Activities for the week are as follows:

  • Thursday 8 December (09h00 – 11h30): A guided game drive at a cost of R90 per child.
  • Friday 9 December (08h30 – 10h30): A guided, 1km walk on the Imbila hiking trail (inside the fenced area) and animal leadership examples.
  • Saturday 10 December (10h00 – 12h00): A guided game drive at a cost of R90 per child.
  • Sunday 11 December (10h00 – 12h30): Signs of the wild – tracks and tracking.
  • Monday 12 December (11h00 – 12h00): A guided game drive to a rock painting site inside the Park at a cost of R80 per child.
  • Tuesday 13 December (12h00 – 13h00): Watching nature-based DVD”s (like African cats and the Story of an African Farm etc.), ecological games and a storytelling session.
  • Wednesday 14 December (08h30 – 12h00): A guided walk on the 2.5km Black Eagle hiking trail (inside the fenced area).
  • Thursday 15 December (10h00 – 12h00): Know your birds.
  • Friday 16 December (08h30 – 10h30): A guided, 1km walk on the Imbila hiking trail (inside the fenced area) and animal leadership examples.

Please note that the programmes may be cancelled due to inclement weather conditions. Conservation fees are payable upon entry for all visitors, including holiday programme participants.
