South African National Parks (SANParks) will once again open its gates to South Africans during SA National Parks Week, taking place from 7 to 13 Sept...
The incident, which took place on Monday 4 April, in fact took place at a bed and breakfast establishment near the town of Addo. The suspects were later apprehended by police and the stolen goods returned to the owners.
“Although we found this incident disturbing, we would like to clear up the confusion and reassure our visitors that visitor safety and enjoyment is of the utmost importance to us,” said spokesperson, Megan Taplin.
Taplin added that there are a number of effective security measures in place at Addo Elephant National Park which enhance both the safety of visitors and wildlife in the Park.
Taplin appealed to the media to ensure they had the correct facts before publication since incorrect reports are extremely damaging to SANParks” reputation.
