Letaba Camping Site To Re-Open For Tourists

The Camping Site at Letaba Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park will be operational on Monday, 6 July 2026 for official bookings; following its temporary closure due to flood damage experienced in January 2026.

Since then, measures were put in place to speed-up the restoration work required to gradually re-open facilities at the Rest Camp; and the contractor is conducting final inspections at the camping site including public ablutions and fence this week. The less severely damaged tourist units are expected to be ready for operation in mid-August 2026.

The following facilities are open at Letaba Rest Camp:

Shop – 07:00 – 19:00.

Reception – 07:00 – 18:00.

Elephant Museum – 08:00 – 16:00.

Filling Station – 06:00 – 18:00.

The restaurant is still closed however there is Tindlovu on the Go Takeaway Restaurant – 07:00 – 18:00.

Guided activities at Letaba are also open.

Day Visitors Area and swimming pools are still temporarily closed.

SANParks welcomes the camping site’s reopening and extends appreciation to all stakeholders involved in the restoration efforts.
