KTP Entrance Road Update
The upgrading of the 60 km gravel road from Andriesvale to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park ,which is part of the Expanded Public Works Program, is progressing well.
Three and a half kilometers has been tarred so far and it is envisaged that ten kilometers will be completed by the end of August 2006. There are a few detours in the first twenty kilometers from Andriesvale and tourists should be on the lookout for these. The road is narrow in this stretch and caution should be taken.
The remaining 40km is a normal gravel road with lots of dust. All along the 60km of road the SAN community has stalls where local art effects and curios can be purchased.
