The Garden Route National Park is looking forward to welcoming visitors, residents, and festivalgoers to the 2026 Knysna Oyster Festival, which will take place from 03 to 12 July 2026 in the town of Knysna.
As a long-standing partner in one of South Africa’s premier winter festivals, SANParks is proud to showcase the natural beauty, biodiversity, and outdoor experiences offered by the Knysna Section of the Garden Route National Park. The festival presents an opportunity to celebrate not only the region’s renowned oysters but also its rich natural heritage, vibrant communities, and sustainable tourism offerings.
Throughout the festival, visitors are encouraged to experience the diverse attractions within the Garden Route National Park, including indigenous forests, scenic hiking and cycling trails, estuaries, beaches, and world-class viewpoints. These protected landscapes continue to provide unforgettable experiences while contributing to biodiversity conservation and local economic development.
The SANParks Honorary Rangers, Knysna Region, will once again construct their popular forest display at the Festival Hub, creating an immersive space where visitors can experience the sights and sounds of the indigenous forest while learning about conservation and SANParks’ work. Throughout the festival, SANParks and the Honorary Rangers will participate in a range of festival activities and environmental awareness initiatives that promote responsible tourism, biodiversity conservation, and appreciation of the region’s unique natural heritage.
