Entrance gate closed – Wilderness section of the Garden Route National Park
Visitors to Wilderness section of the Garden Route National Park must note the entrance gate on the northern side of the Lagoon day visitor area is closed for safety and security reasons . There is only one controlled entrance to the area which is off the N2 from the parking area West of the Touws River bridge.
The kiosk selling fast foods, snacks and drinks is up in the Ebb & Flow Rest Camp and open during the day.
The Mother Holly tea room in Goudveld (forest area) is currently closed to reopen in the New Year.
Day visitor activities include birdwatching, canoeing, boating with Wilderness Safari, segways, scootours which leave from Thesen Island, Knysna to Goudveld, cycling, day hiking trails and multiple day (Outeniqua hiking trail). There are also picnic areas both in the forest and lakes areas.
