Spirit of Tsitsikamma Boat Cruise

SANParks is operating the boat cruise from the Storms River Mouth Rest Camp.

The trip up the otherwise inaccessible Storms River Gorge gives visitors the opportunity to view the gorge firsthand and to marvel at one of nature’s many wonders. Huge caverns are interspersed on either side of the river, some which extend upwards for 20 meters, providing a habitat for rare Bat species.

The cruise can accommodate groups of up to 12 and runs every 45 minutes. It departs from the old jetty below the suspension bridge, which can be reached after a half an hour walk along the Mouth Trail. This 800m boardwalk winds its way along the coastal forest, ending at the suspension bridge below the Khoisan Cave. Tour operators should budget about two hours for this activity.
