Statement by the Office of Marthinus van Schalkwyk, Minister of Environmental Affairs & Tourism, on 20 October 2005: N1/N2 Winelands Toll Road: Minister Announces Decision on Appeals
Marthinus van Schalkwyk, Minister of Environmental Affairs & Tourism, has considered the appeals against the decision to grant authorisation, in terms of Section 22 of the Environment Conservation Act, No. 73 of 1989, for the construction of the N1/N2 Winelands Toll Highway, in the Western Cape. The full text of the Minister’s decision on the appeals and his directives are attached below. The decision spells out further steps to be taken by the applicant, after which the Minister will issue a revised Record of Decision.
