Two suspects were apprehended on Friday, 6 March 2026, for tampering with and attempting to open vehicles in the Cape Point parking area, located within the Southern Section of Table Mountain National Park (TMNP).

A search of the suspects and their vehicle revealed a remote‑jamming device, which is believed to have been used to interfere with visitors’ vehicle locking systems.
The two individuals were subsequently handed over to the Simon’s Town South African Police Service (SAPS) for arrest and further processing.
