SANParks Honorary Rangers Support Knysna Section with 35 Patrol Bags

SANParks Honorary Rangers from the Knysna Region donated 35 patrol bags to Field Rangers in the Knysna Lakes, Diepwalle and Harkerville sections of the Garden Route National Park on Monday, 5 October 2026.

Field Rangers spend long hours in the park conducting patrols and supporting conservation operations across challenging and often remote areas. Having suitable equipment to carry patrol gear makes their work more practical and efficient as they carry out their important conservation responsibilities.

The donation forms part of the continued support provided by the SANParks Honorary Rangers to conservation operations across the Garden Route National Park. Through their involvement, the Honorary Rangers help strengthen the capacity of SANParks teams and support initiatives that assist staff working on the ground.

The donation also highlights the value of collaboration between SANParks and the SANParks Honorary Rangers in supporting conservation and the people responsible for protecting the park’s natural and cultural heritage. Field Rangers across the park will use the 35 patrol bags, which provide practical equipment to support their day-to-day patrol activities.
