SANParks announces that My Activity Permit is available online

Cape Town: South African National Parks (SANParks) is thrilled to announce that the Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) My Activity Permit is now available for purchase online. This convenient new option makes it easier to obtain your permit and enjoy all the amazing activities on offer. The TMNP My Activity Permit can be purchased online through the SANParks website at the following link:  https://www.sanparks.org/tickets/permits/

The TMNP My Activity Permit is necessary for individuals engaging in specific recreational activities within the park. It grants permission to undertake recreational activities such as horse riding, dog-walking, cycling, paragliding, hang gliding, and sport climbing in the Park. Importantly, the activity permits are issued in terms of the activity’s Environmental Management Plan which sets out the areas and trails in TMNP where the activity can take place and determines a code of conduct which park users must abide by to protect the environment and avoid impacting other users and wildlife. The activities requiring a permit are categorized into three levels:

Level 1 – Dog-walking
Level 1 – Multi User Level 1 card additional member
Level 2 – Hang-gliding, paragliding, sport climbing
Level 3 – Horse-riding, cycling, line fishing, and transport
Level 3 – Additional member

For Level 3 activities such as line fishing or Marine Species Access at Cape of Good Hope (Cape Point), a valid DFFE recreational fishing permit is required. The My Activity Permit is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, and the expiration date is indicated on the permit. Holders of the My Activity Permit are exempted from paying entrance fees at TMNP pay points when engaging in their specified activities.
