No Predators At Namaqua National Park

South African National Parks (SANParks) received numerous enquiries related to the presence of predators assumed to be associated with Namaqua National Park. SANParks have never introduced any predators in this national park since its proclamationin 2002. We are though aware of predators that originate from facilities outside the national park. And it is imperative to appreciate that predators occur in the Northern Cape which can result in some being free ranging

Notwithstanding, SANParks works closely with local farmer organizations as well as the Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform to address and mitigate the predator situation inside the Namaqua District.
