Mountain Zebra National Park hospitality team tops

Mountain Zebra National Park’s Hospitality staff are tops – which was confirmed at last week’s SANParks Regional Achievement Awards evening hosted at The Palms in Cradock.

Hospitality Services Manager, Vuyani Dial, won an award in the Excellent Performance in the Workplace category. The citation on his award read: “Vuyani was instrumental in the successful expansion of Mountain Zebra National Park’s rest camp with the opening of eight new units in July 2017. He worked tirelessly in ensuring that the project was a success, often liaising with contractors and suppliers after hours when needed. Under his leadership the Hospitality Department is motivated, focused and geared towards ensuring guests receive the highest levels of service at all times.”

This was evident in the fact that the Park also won the award for Best Performing Reception of the Year. The men and women who act as the welcoming faces to the Park are often complimented in guests’ feedback. They received the recognition for constantly maintaining an exceptionally high level of customer service when dealing with guests. From the smiling faces which greet visitors when they first walk into the Reception area, to the warm welcomes they are offered and their tips on how to make the most out of a guest’s stay is greatly valued.

The awards evening takes place annually and gives recognition to individuals, teams and parks for outstanding service in the previous financial year – in this case 2017/18. The Frontier Region is made up of the Addo Elephant, Camdeboo, Garden Route, Karoo and Mountain Zebra National Parks.
