The policy on senior citizens discount is subject to the following terms and conditions which may change without prior notice: (The policy is available on the internet at www.parks-sa.co.za)
1. On arrival at a park, proof of identification or proof of pension category must be given. No claims resulting from failure to produce the necessary documentation will be paid out at a later stage. No discount is offered on admission to a park. (Social pensioners are those receiving old age, family and disability allowances as well as blind persons.)
2. Married couples are entitled to one unit per visit. The discount will apply to the unit tariff. In the case of additional persons, the full bed tariff will be applicable if that person does not qualify for the concession.
3. The discount in respect of camping, applies to the basic tariff as well as the per person tariff for those who qualify.
4. Meals are not subject to this concession.
5. Any group of senior citizens must apply to the Director: Commercial Development & Tourism, PO Box 787, Pretoria, 0001, beforehand in order to qualify for the 40% concession. Failure to do so will render the full amount payable.
6. Concessions are granted in the Kruger National Park during the following dates (inclusive)
Concessions in the Kruger National Park are not granted on Friday and Saturday nights and any long weekend. If a public holiday falls on a Thursday/Friday/Monday or Tuesday it will be recognised as a long weekend and not qualify for discount. This will also include the Sunday of that particular weekend.
7. Concessions are granted in all other parks during the following dates (inclusive):
In all of the other parks concessions are not granted during any provincial school holiday or any long weekend. If a public holiday falls on a Thursday/Friday/Monday or Tuesday it will be recognized as a long weekend and not qualify for discount. This will also include the Sunday of that particular weekend.
DEPOSITS FOR BOOKINGS
The policy on booking cancellation or modifications has also been amended. While the old policy imposed a R50,00 fee for making amendments or cancelling an existing booking, the new policy approved by the Board of Trustees allows for a non-refundable R5,00 Transaction Fee to be levied on all bookings and any amendments or cancellations thereof. The new policy takes effect immediately.
