“Our attention has been drawn to the terms of the National Heritage Resources Act No 25 of 1999 which stipulates that the removal of a monument or memorial requires the permission of the South African Heritage Resources Agency. SANParks will accordingly apply for such a permit. We regret the omission and any inconvenience to the public that may have been caused.” said Msimang.
