Free Access to National Parks in the Cape Region during SA National Parks Week
South African National Parks (SANParks) will once again open its gates to South Africans during SA National Parks Week, taking place from 7 to 13 Sept...
The new rates will be charged per day – not per visit – and are as follows:
| Category | Rand Rate | Pula Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Adult (over 15 years old) | 25,00 | 20,00 |
| Children (2 – 15 years old) | 12,00 | 10,00 |
| Children under two | Free | Free |
| Vehicles | 5,00 | 4,00 |
These new tariffs are to be ratified by the SANParks Board at the end of March.
The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park was established on 7 April 1999 with the signing of an agreement between South Africa and Botswana in which the two countries undertook to manage their adjacent national parks – GemsbokNational Park in Botswana and Kalahari Gemsbok National Park in South Africa – as a single ecological unit.
With this park both South Africa and Botswana benefit by ensuring the long-term conservation of the valuable wildlife resources and ecosystem in the area.
