SANParks’ Community-Based Economic Inclusion Programme On Display
South African National Parks' (SANParks) economic inclusion interventions are on display today through the support of small-scale fishing communities ...
Event organisers 24-7 Adventures sponsored by Merrell, a premium outdoor footwear brand say this year”s participants have registered in numbers, a first since the inception of the event. The race includes eight legs amounting to 150 kilometres in and around the Park. Starting at Touwsriver Mouth, the event promises a journey on a beautiful and peaceful stretch of the Park, passing through Swartvlei Caravan Park and ending up back at Ebb & Flow.
While there will be plenty of activities for the whole family, that section of the Park is home to several bird species including and not limited to Cuckoo Hawk, Crowned Eagle, Forest Buzzard, Black and Red-breasted Sparrowhawk and African Goshawks.
Fynbos in bloom looks gorgeous against the thick forests and water bodies of five lakes, estuaries, rivers and the sea.
Area Manager, Mzwandile Mjadu says “the Wilderness section is prepared to host the event organisers and participants and we expect no negative incidents. We are working closely with law enforcement to ensure that all participants feel safe and welcomed”.
