Media Release: Marakele National Park heeds the call to action on Mandela Day

The Park”s employees joined hands in establishing vegetable gardens for two families in Regorogile community, just 15 minutes outside of the Park. According to Mr Mphadeni Nthangeni, Park Manager of Marakele, these families were selected by the municipality as they are needy and will benefit a great deal from the gardens.

SANParks as an organisation with a sustainable national park system connecting society, continues to build relationships with stakeholders especially those communities adjacent to its national parks by giving back in whatever way is possible. “Mandela Day gives another opportunity to do more for our most cherished stakeholders, the community” said Nthangeni.

Meanwhile, Mapungubwe National Park and Golden Gate Highlands National Park will both renovate the local farm schools in their respective areas.
