The Kruger National Park (KNP) will be on an outreach marketing initiative in the Riverside Mall, Nelspruit on 24 – 27 November 2016 between 9:00 and 18:00 daily. The initiative allows the KNP staff to connect face to face with clients from the local communities as well as to share information on conservation and tourism. The exhibition is also meant to resolve issues with prospective and established clients whilst gathering information on their needs.
“An exhibition in particular is a method through which the Park gets in touch with its clients and this is in line with our vision “a sustainable national park system connecting to society”. Our KNP Marketing team will be available to listen to the reviews and suggestions from our valued public in the Lowveld region; and therefore resolving issues at that level”, said the SANParks Acting Head of Communications, William Mabasa.
These outreach activities take place on a monthly basis at surrounding malls and shopping centres, with the focus on building good relations with stakeholders. As part of the Park Management Plan, it is also our mandate that we take into consideration input from the local communities. In this time wherein wildlife crime has engulfed the country, it is important for KNP to keep tabs with its stakeholders; who will in return appreciate the efforts by joining forces to eradicate the pandemic.
“The relations with communities should be of mutual benefit to both parties in that as KNP collects information in relation to its clients” needs, the platform also allows for promotion of visits to the National Parks by the surrounding community members. We therefore encourage the public to visit our stand at the Riverside Mall because we can only improve and prosper alongside our communities for the love of the KNP”, concluded Mabasa.
