Media Release: Birders to unit in Karoo National Park

Karoo National Park”s Honorary Rangers, organising the Park”s next Birding Weekend from 24 to 26 October, have dubbed it “an exciting, fun-filled weekend packed with true Karoo hospitality and great prizes”.

In association with Sasol and Strettons, the Honorary Rangers” Japie Claassen says the idea is to have light-hearted competition, have fun and experience the Karoo. Those considering attending will be delighted to know that Vernon Head, chairperson of Birdlife SA, is scheduled to be the guest speaker at the event. He will also be doing the lucky draws and presentations at prize giving on the Saturday evening.

The cost per person is R450, which includes the registration fee, welcome drinks on the Friday evening and a gala dinner on the Saturday evening. It does not include entry/conservation and accommodation fees.

Participants are responsible for booking their own accommodation for the weekend. The Park offers camping grounds and a number of self-catering options in the form of family cottages, cottages or chalets.
