Extended free access to include Saturday in the Garden Route National Park

The Garden Route National Park has added one more day, Saturday, the 15th September 2018 to the SA National Parks Week campaign. ‘We decided to extend the free access week to include locals who could not make it during the week’ says Park Manager, Paddy Gordon.

The Park has hosted groups for planned activities organised by People & Conservation Officers during the week in all three sections of the Park- Knysna, Wilderness and Tsitsikamma. Citizens are encouraged to visit the Garden Route National Park for its various activities including hiking, Big trees, picnic spots and others. Tsitsikamma has planned a rugby fixture starting at 10:00am at the Storms River Playgrounds.

SANParks Honorary Rangers (Knysna) have also initiated a clean- up campaign led by Delle Henry and her team. Residents in Knysna are invited between 11:00- 14:00. Those interested can contact Theresa, [email protected], 082 355 2066

The 15th September is also International Coastal Clean-Up Day which began some 30 years ago when local communities decided to take action to protect coastlines.
