Empowering Local Business: Training Opportunities For SMME’s In Graaff-Reinet

Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) in Graaff-Reinet and surrounding areas are invited to participate in a four-day Costing and Tendering Training program hosted by South African National Parks (South African National Parks).

The training, scheduled to take place from 14 to 17 April 2026 at the Alex Laing Library Hall in Graaff-Reinet, aims to strengthen the capacity of local businesses and improve their access to procurement opportunities – particularly within the conservation and tourism sectors.

This initiative comes at a crucial time when many small businesses face barriers in navigating complex tender processes and accurately pricing their goods and services. By equipping entrepreneurs with practical tools and knowledge, SANParks is helping to unlock new economic opportunities and foster sustainable local growth.

For many SMMEs, securing contracts – whether with government entities or private sector partners – can be a game changer. However, success often hinges on understanding compliance requirements, pricing strategies and the intricacies of tender documentation.

Attendees will leave the program better equipped to compete in both public and private procurement spaces. The training is designed to increase business credibility and compliance readiness, enhance chances of securing contracts and growing revenue, build confidence in engaging with large organisations such as SANParks and open doors to long-term partnerships and business expansion.

By investing in the development of SMMEs, SANParks continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting local economic development while strengthening partnerships with the communities surrounding its parks. Ultimately, the program aims to empower local entrepreneurs to play a more active role in the regional economy while contributing to inclusive growth.
