Area Manager of the Tsitsikamma (Garden Route National Park), Lesley-Ann Meyer said “the event was an effort to reach out to various communities . We planned activities in such a way as to accommodate all our visitors. The morning Programme was dedicated to kiddies events, the midday aspect to sporting activities and the evening one to song and dance. Song and dance proved popular at last year”s SA National Parks Week 2014 as it attracted a large audience of surrounding communities from Coldstream, Covie and other townships.
Once their attention is captured, educational and informative messages about the need to conserve nature and nature-based activities are embraced easily. More than 600 people attended the event and we are thus strongly considering hosting it annually” added Meyer”.
