Appointment of Ms Beryl Ferguson as Chairperson of the SANParks Board
The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Mr David Maynier has appointed Ms Beryl Ferguson as Chairperson of the Board of South African National Parks (SANParks) in terms of section 60(1) of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, 2003 (Act No. 57 of 2003).
Ms Ferguson’s appointment is effective from 1 August 2026 to 30 September 2028.
This appointment follows her service as Interim Chairperson of the Board from 1 October 2025, during which she demonstrated dedication, sound leadership, and a strong commitment to the effective governance and oversight of SANParks.
Ms Ferguson’s appointment affirms the continuation of her exemplary leadership and strategic guidance during a pivotal period for the organisation.
