20-Year Birthday Bash Relay Race at Agulhas National Park

You are hereby invited to take part in the Agulhas 20 years Birthday Bash Relay Race to commemorate 20 years of conservation at the Southernmost Tip.

On September 14 1998 SANParks purchased four ha of land at the Southernmost Point of the African continent to establish a national park. It was officially declared on 23 September 1999 in the Government Gazette as GN1135. Today the park stretches over 21 971.0161 ha of land.

Race Starting Time: 08:00 AM
Venue (Start & Finish): Bosheuwel Precinct, Elim Road

The Festivities:

We will be celebrating the 20th birthday throughout the enitre month of September which will include the following festivities:

  • During the whole of September: See the Lowland fynbos display at the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse.
  • 7 September: Join us for the Agulhas Birding Day.
  • 8 – 15 September: We will be celebrating SA National Parks Week.
  • 14 September: Coastal Clean-Up.
  • 21 September: Birthday Bash Relay Race & Basaar.
