Climate
The climate is semi-arid Mediterranean, mild and without extremes, but with strong seasonal winds, mostly southerlies in summer and northerlies in winter. The monthly maximum and minimum air temperatures recorded for Langebaanweg (15 km northeast of Langebaan) range from 18.4°C – 27.5°C and 7.1°C – 14.9°C respectively. The average annual rainfall is 265 mm, falling mainly in winter. In Summer, early morning mists provide brief respite from the otherwise dry temperate coastal climate.
