Yellow Route

Blue Route

Green Route

- Trail Type: Jeep tracks, exciting single track, and logging roads.
- Surface: Smooth to rough gravel. Dirt tracks. Muddy after rains. Tree roots across track.
- Technical: : Mostly an easy non-technical ride however the single track section does include technical sections.
- Exertion: Moderate (high when wet).
- Distance: 14 km
- Route Duration:Approximately 2 – 2.5 hours

Red Route
- Route: Breathtaking views of the area, including the Harkerville coastline. Ride through pristine indigenous forest, sections of fynbos and plantations.
- Trail Type: Jeep tracks, exciting and long sections single track, and logging roads.
- Surface: Smooth to rough gravel. Dirt tracks. Muddy after rains. Tree roots across track.
- Technical: Feathered braking, gear shifting on the fly while descending, moderate to steep inclines and declines. Bumpy surfaces. Negotiate moderate to rough obstacles.
- Exertion: High.
- Distance: 22 km
- Route Duration: Approximately 3 – 5 hours.

Graspad
Graspad is a newly launched 12 kilometer cycling route. It joins up to all popular Harkerville mountain biking routes. Cyclists will ride through the species-rich indigenous Knysna forest with a backdrop of the ocean. GPS Coordinates for Kranshoek (where the route begins): 34°05′28″S;23°18′23″E. Other activities in Kranshoek: Picnic spots, the waterfall, dolphin and whale watching and the Kranshoek hiking trail. Follow black & white marked bicycle signs from the Kranshoek gate.
Diepwalle to Harkerville: Petrus-se-Brand Cycle Route
Petrus-se-Brand Cycle Route
- Route: Beautiful views. Ride through pristine indigenous forest, small sections of fynbos and plantations. Low water bridge crossings.
- Trail Type: Jeep tracks, single track and logging roads.
- Surface: Smooth to rough gravel. Dirt tracks. Muddy after rains. Tree roots across track.
- Technical: : Feathered braking, gear shifting on the fly while descending, moderate to steep inclines and declines. Bumpy surfaces. Negotiate moderate obstacles.
- Exertion:Moderate (high when wet).
- Distance: 22.4 km
- Route Duration: Approximately 2 – 3 hours
- Difficulty: 7/10

Green Route
- Route: An easy introductory route for novice riders and families through Pine plantations and pockets of indigenous forest as well as some open fynbos offering views of the farming area below with glimpses of the sea in the distance.
- Trail Type: Jeep track and main logging road.
- Surface: Smooth to rough gravel. Dirt tracks. Tree roots across track in places.
- Technical: Basic – braking, gear shifting, moderate inclines, negotiate minor obstacles.
- Exertion: Low to moderate.
- Distance: 8 km
- Route Duration: Approximately 1.25 – 2 hours.
- Difficulty: 2.5/10

Yellow Route
- Route: A route offering some moderate climbs and awesome views for those improving their mileage and technical ability. Beautiful views of the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains in the distance as well the historic Millwood Goldfields. The Knysna heads are clearly visible on clear days. Ride through pockets of indigenous forest, plantations and large sections of mountain fynbos.
- Trail Type: Jeep tracks and logging roads.
- Surface: Dirt tracks. Smooth to very rough gravel. Muddy after rain.
- Technical: Feathered braking, gear shifting on the fly while descending, moderate inclines, bumpy surfaces, negotiate moderate obstacles.
- Exertion: High.
- Distance: 25 km
- Route Duration: Approximately 3.5 – 5 hours.
- Difficulty: 7/10

- Route: A challenging route for intermediate riders wanting to test their endurance abilities and/or training for longer endurance events. Homtini Mountain Bike Route
Homtini
- Route: Most of the trail follows fairly easy contours in the indigenous forest and plantation. It is enhanced by winding single-track slip-paths, shady plantation and indigenous forest roads offering a regular bird’s eye view of the surrounding area. It is a moderate ride with the exception of a steep 4km climb. A quality ride not requiring advanced technical skills.
- Trail Type: Jeep tracks and logging roads, single track.
- Surface: Dirt tracks. Tree roots across track. Smooth to very rough gravel in places. Muddy after rain.
- Technical: Mostly non-technical with some feathered braking, gear shifting on the fly while descending, bumpy surfaces, negotiate moderate obstacles.
- Exertion: Moderate – high (4km climb).
- Distance: 19 km
- Route Duration: Approximately 1.5 – 2 hours.
- Difficulty: 6/10

Tags for Frequent Cyclists
Annual Tags
- Tags will be available from 1 December and will be valid for 13 months. From 1 January to 31 December, annually.
Seasonal Tags
- Tags will be available from 1 December and valid until 31 January every year.
- Tags will be available from 1 June and valid until 31 July every year.
Important Information
- Tags must always be visible.
- Tags are not transferable to another person.
- Tags are only available to recreational cyclists and not to commercial operators.
- Cyclists who are in possession of the old cycling card will still be able to use this until the card expires.
- Cycle permits for day cyclists will still be available for purchase. Cyclist can obtain permits from the designated gates or SANParks Office in Thesens Island, Knysna.
- Wild Cards and other Activity Cards are not valid for this activity in the Garden Route National Park.
