In recognition of Cancer Awareness Month, employees at Mokala National Park have joined the national campaign to raise awareness about cancer and the importance of early detection.
Throughout October, staff members will wear an item of pink clothing and a pink ribbon every Friday as part of the #PinkFriday initiative. The campaign aims to highlight the message that your health matters and that early detection saves lives.
The first #PinkFriday was observed this past Friday, marking the start of a month-long effort by park employees to demonstrate solidarity with individuals and families affected by cancer, while encouraging colleagues and community members to prioritize regular health screenings and self-care.
The #PinkFriday campaign forms part of SANParks’ broader commitment to employee wellness and community health awareness, aligning with national health observances that encourage education, prevention, and early intervention.
