South African National Parks (SANParks) invites South Africans from all walks of life to nominate exceptional individuals, communities, organisations and partners for the 21st Annual Kudu Awards, SANParks’ premier platform for recognising excellence in conservation. The awards celebrate those whose passion, commitment and actions help manage and sustain South Africa’s natural heritage and strengthen the future of conservation.

The 21st annual SA National Parks Week is set to take place from 7 to 13 September 2026. This annual initiative provides South African day visitors with free access to participating national parks during the designated week.

South African National Parks (SANParks) launched a new lion survey in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park through a partnership with Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT). The survey will continue until October 2026 and aims to improve understanding of the park’s lion population, including the number of lions, where they occur and how they move across the landscape.
