1X Clerical Environmental Monitor (Admin)

A vacancy currently exists for a Clerical (Admin) Environmental Monitor at the Cape Regional Office. This is a fixed term contract ending March 2027. The total remuneration package is a basic salary as per Expanded Public Works Programme rates of R406 per day. Preference will be given to unemployed persons aged between 18-35 years, women & Persons Living with Disabilities.

Requirements

  • Matric/Grade 12/ NCV level 4 certificate.
  • Post-secondary school qualification in Human Resources, Office/Business Administration, Public Administration or relevant equivalent qualification (NQF Level 6) would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years Human Resources and General Office Administration experience.
  • Language proficiency in English and one other local language
  • Computer Competency (MS Outlook, Word and Excel, Power Point, MS Teams and databases) this will be assessed.
  • Computer literacy levels will be tested.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid Driver’s License will serve as an added advantage.
  • Preference will be given to applicants of local communities.
  • Proof of residence (City of Cape Town Municipality).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all the administration linked to the implementation of the BSP and other programmes.
  • Receive and check documentation for correctness and completeness.
  • Facilitate the Human Capital Management & financial administration.
  • Coordinate training & travel logistics.
  • Monitor and produce monthly reports on the progress of projects.
  • Maintain the database of all Monitors/Intern projects and their activities.
  • Ensure compliance of the BSP and SANParks MOU for this project.
  • Assist with the training needs and implementation for the programmes.
  • Be the link between the Monitors in the Cape Region, BSP Office & Head Office.
