A true hiker’s paradise with its high altitude, rugged terrain, breathtaking views and chance to experience the mountains. Or simply explore the vibrant town of Clarens.
Go Horse Riding
Have an adventure and experience the Park’s beautiful mountain scenery from a unique vantage point, on horseback. Depart from the Gladstone stables on a one or two hour guided trail over mountain streams, rocky ravines and golden fields.
Visit the Vulture Birdhide
The Vulture’s birdhide is a vulture hide where bird watchers are treated to an exclusive view of the area’s vultures feasting on carrion.
Visit Clarens
Clarens, situated approximately 20 minutes from the Golden Gate Hotel, is a picturesque little town that offers a wonderful selection of restaurants, pubs, art galleries and activities.
Go on a drive to view the landscape and wildlife
Experience the beauty of the Park, by car. The Park has two self-drive loops that are tarred and well maintained. Four-wheel drive vehicles are not required for these drives.
