1. Introduction

1.1. The SANParks Rewards Programme (“the Programme”) is operated by South African National Parks (“SANParks”), a public entity and ecotourism organisation headquartered at 643 Leyds Street, Muckleneuk, Pretoria, Gauteng, Republic of South Africa.

1.2. These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the Programme. By enrolling in or using the Programme and its related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and SANParks’ Data Privacy Notice.

1.3. You are advised to read these Terms and Conditions carefully.

2. Programme Overview

2.1. The Programme is a value-based loyalty initiative providing members with exclusive promotional offers, early access to bookings, and last-minute travel deals. It currently does not include points accrual, redemption, or membership tier levels.

2.2. All benefits are promotional, discretionary, and subject to change with or without notice.

2.3. Membership is free and open to individuals aged 18 years or older who hold a valid South African ID or passport. Corporate entities and groups are not eligible.

3. Enrolment and Activation

3.1. Eligible individuals may enroll via the SANParks website or authorised communication channels. Existing Wild Card holders may be automatically enrolled and must opt-in to receive promotional communications.

3.2. CRM customers may receive an invitation to join and must confirm their opt-in status.

3.3. Each individual may only hold one active SANParks Rewards account linked to their unique ID or passport number.

3.4. Activation may require identity verification or linking of a Wild Card to the account.

4. Programme Benefits

4.1. Members may receive access to members-only specials, early access to bookings, and personalised offers via email, SMS, WhatsApp, push notifications, or mobile app.

4.2. Some benefits may extend to travel companions, based on specific terms.

4.3. Benefits are subject to change based on SANParks’ discretion, member activity, and system profiling.

4.4. No fixed entitlement to benefits exists. All benefits are offered at SANParks’ sole discretion.

5. Member Responsibilities

5.1. Members must provide accurate personal information and keep it updated.

5.2. SANParks is not liable for missed offers due to outdated or incorrect information.

5.3. Membership and benefits are non-transferable and intended for individual use only.

5.4. Providing false information may result in membership suspension or termination.

6. Communications and Consent

6.1. Members consent to receive promotional and benefit-related communications.

6.2. Members may opt out of marketing at any time without affecting general membership, though personalised services may be limited.

7. Data Protection and Privacy

7.1. SANParks processes member data in line with applicable laws and its Privacy Statement.

7.2. Data collected includes name, contact details, ID/passport number, transaction history, preferences, and communication records.

7.3. Data is used for member profiling, communication, analytics, and service enhancement.

7.4. Members may request access to, correction, or deletion of their data.

7.5. Deleting personal data may result in termination of membership.

8. Use of Membership and Account

8.1. The SANParks Rewards account is owned by SANParks and is non-transferable.

8.2. The account and benefits are for the sole use of the registered member.

8.3. Membership is conditional on acceptance of these Terms and compliance with all applicable laws.

9. Promotions and Offers

9.1. Promotions and benefits are for active members only and are subject to specific terms at the time of offer.

9.2. Offers have no cash value and may not be transferred, duplicated, or exchanged.

9.3. Promotions may not be combined unless stated, and expired offers cannot be re-applied.

9.4. SANParks may withdraw, change, or cancel promotions without notice.

10. Account Termination and Suspension

10.1. Members may close their account at any time, forfeiting all benefits including Wild Card eligibility.

10.2. SANParks may suspend or terminate accounts due to fraud, abuse, or rule violations.

11. Programme Modifications

11.1. SANParks reserves the right to modify or terminate the Programme or its components at any time.

11.2. Material changes will be communicated where possible, and continued participation implies acceptance of changes.

11.3. Certain products, services, or benefits may be excluded at SANParks’ discretion.

12. Fraud and Misuse

12.1. Suspected fraudulent or abusive activity may result in membership cancellation.

12.2. SANParks reserves the right to disqualify members involved in misuse of the Programme.

13. Limitation of Liability

13.1. SANParks will not be responsible for any losses you might suffer from taking part in the Programme – whether those losses are direct, indirect, minor, or major.

13.2. SANParks is not responsible for any technical problems, system errors, or failures in communication during your participation.

13.3. If SANParks is found liable, one can only claim the value of the benefit.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

14.1. These Terms are governed by South African law.

14.2. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

14.3. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining terms remain in effect.
