Extreme weather conditions expected across Western Cape

Extreme weather conditions are expected across large parts of the Western Cape over the next few days as from 7 April 2024. The weather warning for the next 24 hours is at an unprecedented level 9 warning (the last storm and floods was level 6) with an emphasis on Cape Town, the Stellenbosch Winelands region and the Overberg and Southern Cape Coast. 100-150 mm of rain expected in the next 24 – 36 hours and VERY strong winds. Cape Point will not be accessible to guests.

Closure of camp site on Breede River

Please note that we have provisionally closed our riverbank camp sites situated along the Breede River due to flood damage. All other camp facilities are still available.

Die Stroom Gate opened

Bontebok National Park has opened Die Stroom Gate for all visitors. Please use these GPS coordinates: S 34°3.2327′ / E 20°25.7654′. The old reception is no longer in use.
