Conservation Standards & Compliance

The function of this unit is to manage, coordinate and collate conservation data from Ranger sections and other sources in the Kruger National Park, report on these and maintain records as required by SANParks and will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of conservation monitoring and management programs, and will function as Environmental Control Officers.

Functions

  • Coordinate conservation monitoring and data collation within the KNP
  • Act as an Environmental Control Officer within the KNP
  • Promote collaborative decision-making by representing Rangers at meetings concerning potential impacts on the KNP
  • Coordinate the implementation of conservation management programs in the KNP
  • Carry out general administrative, budgetary and other tasks in accordance with approved SANParks policies, procedures and standards
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and liaison with all relevant stakeholders within the KNP (Ranger Corps, other divisions and staff)
