Graphic Designer (Fixed-Term Contract)

The Organisation requires the services of a Graphic designer in the Communication Department on a temporary contract of three (3) months. This position will be based in the Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.

Requirements

  • Should be in possession of Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or Digital Media Design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, illustrator, InDesign and other online design programmes).
  • Basic understanding of video editing and motion graphics.
  • BA Hons will serve as an added advantage.
  • Should have 1 – 2 years’ experience in graphic design.
  • 3 or more years’ experience will be an advantage.
  • Should have Knowledge of Design and Software Trends.
  • Should have Knowledge of Copyright Laws.

Responsibilities

  • Design poster, presentations, invites and social media posts.
  • Determine size and arrangement of copy and illustrative material, as well as font style and size.
  • Manage proposals from typesetting through to graphic design, print and production.
  • Make decisions about fonts, images, readability and readers’ needs.
  • Prepare rough drafts of material based on agreed brief.
  • Create static and animated content across platforms.
  • Work with different ideas
  • Develop graphics and layouts.
  • Interpret Briefs and transform concepts into visual executions
  • Monitor implementation of operational plans and report deviations.
  • Liaise with other departments.
  • Manage proposals and expectations from typesetting through to graphic design, print and production.
  • Manage multiple design projects under tight deadlines
  • Keep clients up to date
  • Act on Feedback
  • Explain rationale behind graphic design decisions
  • Review final layouts.
  • Suggest improvements
  • Compile reports relating to operational performance & activities.
