EPWP Programme Employment Opportunity: 4X Skilled Environmental Monitor Technical Department

EPWP Employment opportunity currently exists for four (04) Skilled Environmental Monitors within Marakele National Park. The above-stated positions are fixed-term contracts up to the end of 31 March 2027.

The appointed participant or Skilled Environmental Monitor will be paid a wage rate of R 311.00 per day as per Expanded Public Works Programme rates.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • A minimum of 1- 2 years practical experience in a maintenance field.
  • Technical training in one of the following technical environments; plumbing, electrical, carpentry, bricklaying and Aircon and Refrigerator will be an added advantage.
  • Driver’s License will serve as an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to work under pressure and unfavourable condition.

Responsibilities

  • Physically assisting in carrying out relevant maintenance work such as General plumbing, electrical works, Carpentry works and civil works in accordance with predetermined quality and productivity standards.
  • Monthly material stock control and cleaning of the storeroom.
  • Routine maintenance of which includes all tourist buildings, staff accommodation, administration, and technical buildings, but not limited to other requirements in civil services, building services, roads maintenance etc.
  • Assisting with the routine general maintenance of which includes all tourist buildings, staff accommodation, ablution facilities and other infrastructures services.
  • General carrying any duties assigned by the supervisor.
