Where the red dunes and scrub fade into infinity and herds of gemsbok, springbok, eland and blue wildebeest follow the seasons, where imposing camel thorn trees provide shade for huge black-mane lions and vantage points for leopard and many raptors... this is the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
Dear valued client,
Due to possible strike action, SANParks will be shifting the opening of our June and July 2018 bookings from Tuesday, 25 July 2017 to Tuesday, 1 August 2017. This is to ensure minimal disruptions. SANParks apologises for the inconvenience.

Contruction at Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park
Kindly take note that contractors are busy with renovations at Twee Rivieren and construction work at Nossob. The construction at Nossob does not only include the building of the new development, but also the refurbishment of some of the existing buildings in the camp. This will continue until mid to end of 2017. We will inform all stakeholders as soon as the handover has taken place and the units have been placed on the booking system. There is, unfortunately, no waiting list for bookings at the new units.
On 03 February 2017 TOTAL commenced with the replacement of the pumps at Twee Rivieren petrol station. If this process is a success Mata Mata and Nossob will follow suit.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Unleaded fuel problem at the Park
Twee Rivieren , Mata Mata and Nossob have a problem dispensing unleaded fuel during the heat of the day.The ULP heats up and it forms airpockets . As soon as the system detects these , it automatically shuts the system down and relays the fuel back into the tank. We are able to dispense fuel in the mornings when it is still cool but as soon as temperature rises , the ULP tanks shut down.
We suggest filling up between 07h00 – 10h00. May we also suggest filling up at Ashkam before entering at Twee Rivieren . Because of the consistency of Diesel , this does not occur and Diesel is available throughout the day .
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Tourists wanting to exit the Park
Tourists wanting to exit the park other than the point of entry must kindly note that all immigration controls must be done at Twee Rivieren / Two Rivers and a minimum of two nights stay in the South African side of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is required to be allowed to pass through the Mata Mata border post to and from Namibia or when entering or exiting the Park to or from Botswana.
Tourists crossing into Namibia
Kindly note that the standard black and white 'ZA' vehicle sticker is required. A road levy of R154 per trailer and R242 per vehicle is payable at Namibian immigration when entering Namibia.
