VAT Increase – 1 April 2018
South African National Parks (SANParks) finds itself in a somewhat unique situation as the deposits paid by guests are not put to book until they actually stay in the national parks.
Therefore there are complications regarding VAT charges on existing bookings with payments made before 1 April 2018 and stays after 1 April 2018. We are in process of obtaining legal and tax advice to ensure compliance in finalising our position on this matter and will make an announcement once this has been completed.
